Nothing beats the soothing taste of fresh mint tea. For the most authentic experience, I recommend pairing fresh mint leaves with loose-leaf green tea. Loose leaves provide the best flavor match, but you can easily substitute green tea bags if that is what you have available.
Ingredients:
- 5 cups boiling water
- 1 tbsp loose-leaf green tea
- 1 large bunch fresh mint, washed
- Sugar, to taste
Directions:
1. Rinse the tea and mint: place the loose-leaf green tea and fresh mint into a teapot. Pour in 1/2 cup of boiling water, gently swirl the mixture around to rinse the leaves, and carefully discard the water while keeping the tea and mint in the pot.
2. Steep: Pour the remaining boiling water into the teapot. Let the tea steep for about 5 minutes to fully develop the flavors.
3. Sweeten and serve: Add sugar to taste, stir well, and serve hot
