Chicken and chickpea soup

This is a chicken and chickpeas soup it is very comforting soup and it is healthy and most of all it is deliciously. You can serve with bread.

Ingredients:

  • 2 table spoon oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 table spoon ginger
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 pound chicken
  • 2 potatoes, chopped
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 can chickpea
  • 1 chili
  • 2 table spoon cilantro
  • juice of half a lemon
  • 1 magi bouillon
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  • In a large saucepan, heat the oil on a medium heat, add the onion, garlic and the ginger cook until the onion is brown and softened, season with salt and pepper.
  • Add the spices and chicken continue to brown the chicken, and then add potatoes and the carrots.
  • Next add tomatoes cook few more minutes. Then add chickpea, chilies, cilantro, and lemon juice, simmer for few minutes.
  • Add the magi and some water continue to cook until the veggies and the chicken are cooked about 30-40 minutes add more lemon juice.
  • And serve with bread.
