Malawah: Somali Crepes

Malawah Somali Crepe these very thin cooked pancakes on a skillet with an unleavened batter. Delicious and easy to make for breakfast or any time pour syrup or how about some yogurt and honey.

Ingredients
  1. 2 cup plain flour
  2. 2 egg
  3. 1 1/2 cups milk
  4. 11/2 cups water
  5. 1 teaspoon salt
  6. 4 tablespoons melted butter
  7. 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  8. honey for serving
Instructions
  1. In a blender combine flour, egg, milk, water, cardamom, salt and the butter, and blend until smooth.
  2. Cover and set a side for 30 minutes.
  3. Heat a non stick pan over medium heat and brush lightly with oil or butter.
  4. Pour a little batter into the pan swirling to thinly cover the base.
  5. Cook until crepes are golden underneath about one to two minutes.
  6. Spread little oil or butter so that the crepes don't stick to the pan.
  7. Then turnover and on the other side, repeat with the remaining batter.
  8. Transfer into a plate and serve warm with butter and honey.

  6. 4 malqaacadood badhar ama saliid

  1. Waxaad iku qastaa daqiiqda, caanaha, biyaha, milixda, badharka
  2. iyo beedka ilaa uu kuuskuusku ka ba ayo ama mashiinka ku shiid.
  3. Dabool oo sug ilaa 30 mirir.
  4. Maqli dabka saar oo kululee, saliid yar dusha ka mari
  5. Qooshkii malqaacad godan dar oo dhexda kushub
  6. Dabadeed maqliga kolba goolad u wareeji oo
  7. hawada gaadho maqliga gabigiisa, adigoo isku simaya.
  8. Ilaa laba mirir ayuu ku bislaanayaa, marka ay
  9. hoostu shaaxido ka qaad oo dhinaca kale u rog.
  10. Saliid yar ayaad ku dulshubi kartaa ama badhar.
  11. Khaqaad markuu bislaado, dabadeed bilaydhka saar.
  12. Sidaa ku wada dhamee.
  13. Badhar iyo Malab kucun.
