Hello, is this similar to Afghani or Indian Chutney? What would you rate the spice level on a scale of 1 being not hot, and 10 being unbearably hot?
I love Somali food :)
I am not so sure about it really, why don't you test it and let me know.
If you want it to be spicy you leave all the seeds and vice versa.
I am glad you like Somali food, thanks for stopping by.
It's not that hot, I properly rate it 3 or 4 but it really depends how much chilli you use, type of chilli.
Some people also use onions and garlic.
so I suggest if you want it really hot less water, tomato, and use more garlic to produce the fluids needed and spice.
I never made shitni like this. I usually cook it and add dates, onions and a lot more tomatoes. I don't add cilantro nor lemon juice either. But I'll try your way and see how it turns out. Do you have a recipe to make bisbaas quumbo?
