Rice with Vermicelli Noodles: Cadriyad iyo Bariis

Rice cooked with Vermicelli this combination go together so well with. lamb Stew or as a side dish. Vermicelli can be found in Indian grocery stores.

 

Rice with Vermicelli

Ingredients
  1. 2 cups Basmati Rice
  2. 3 cups of water
  3. 1 cup of vermicelli
  4. 1 small onion, chopped
  5. 4 tablespoons oil
  6. salt
Instructions
  1. Wash the rice and let it soak for 30 minutes.
  2. Break the vermicelli noodles into small pieces. fry them with 2 tablespoons of oil on a skillet until golden color. Set aside.
  3. In a sauce pan add 2 tablespoons oil and fry the onions for 4 minutes.
  4. Add the drained rice and 3 cups water season with salt, bring to a boil turn down the heat and leave to a simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Add the vermicelli to the rice and cover.
  6. Mix well with the rice and cover the pan and simmer on a low heat until the rice has soaked all the water and both the rice and vermicelli are tender. Add little water if needed.

  5. Disdi 2 malqaacadood oo saliid ah ku shiil basasha adigoo
  6. isticmaalaya dab dhexdhexaad ah oo yara shaaxidi.
  7. Bariiska biyahay ka miir oo ku dul shub basasha, yarawalaaq
  8. oo biyaha ku dulshub, milixda u qiyaas, karkari ilaa 10 mirir.
  9. Cadriyada ku dulshub kadib dabool oo kari ilaa ay
  10. bariiska iyo cadriyadu ay bislaanayaan.
  11. Hadii aad u baahato biyo dheeraad ah kudulshub.
